Smith Westerns @ SXSW

What can I say about Smith Westerns? It seems to me that the attention from pitchfork has slowly seeped into their tiny little brains and made them think that they are musical gods. They have the most pretentious attitudes I have ever seen in a live set, seriously were talking text book pre-madonnas here. The reasoning behind my madness? During their set up the lead singer demanded that someone bring him a beer, then during the show he couldn't stop hair touching, and after every song he would stop to commentary saying things like: "these next few songs are for the people that knew about us last year, and if you didn't know about us last year... hey we can't all know about cool new music right?" What an ass. As for their overall performance it was actually quite enjoyable minus all the shitty commentary and douchebaggery. They headlined Pitchfork's Offline day one show and as I expected the turnout was HUGE, the lot was massive and it was full all the way to the back. I don't have much else to say about them but I do like the music video for Weekend, enjoy.
