French Horn Rebellion @ SXSW

Due to lack of time and planning I was only in Austin for two days of SXSW, not complaining at all it was great and I saw three bands on my south by to-do list so all in all I would like to say that I had a great time.

After seeing Oh Land at Prefix Magazine's day party I was more than happy to indulge myself in some Austin famous Spartan Pizza (which was far better than the burned mess previously purchased at Roppolo's the day before.) As I sat at the picnic table in front of the airstream turned pizza shop I could hear Skrillex bumping La Roux remixes and making the crowd go def with (bleh) dubstep. As you can tell I was completely uniterested until I turned the corner and saw David"s fro from French Horn Rebellion (and completely geeked out).

Right outside of Cheer up Charlie's was French Horn Rebellion and they had just started their set. I was right on time for a show I had no previous knowledge of seeing. So I stood right outside the chain-linked fence and watched their entire set. They seemed to have some fun even though most of the crowd was in it for Skrillex (to the right of the set). Every now and then Robert would pick up the french horn and play a little tune to the music. After watching the set we went back to this little empty grass lot where we parked and saw the boys sitting down hanging out by our car. Completely surreal. A happy accident, but the best part of my south by adventure.
